Hearing Consultation and Evaluation
A hearing evaluation is a thorough assessment of your hearing. The first step will be to get your personal hearing health and medical history, and to find out what concerns you may have. This process helps me understand the extent of your hearing loss and to uncover what is most important to you in regard to treatment.
The Hearing evaluation will consist of :
- A complete hearing history
- A visual examination of your ear
- Air conduction pure tone audiometry
- Bone conduction audiometry
- Word discrimination
Once the testing is complete, we will review the results of your hearing evaluation and ensure you understand and are comfortable with your treatment plan.
Hearing Aid Demonstrations and Sales
Once we have established that you could benefit from a hearing device, I will explain the styles and features of the latest advancements in hearing aids and how they will potentially benefit you in everyday listening situations. There is a wide range of styles and features that are available, and we will work together to find the right hearing aid to fit your needs.
A demonstration of our most advanced hearing aids may be offered to you to allow you to hear for yourself the benefit of amplification.
Be sure to ask any questions that will help you make an informed decision. I promise to answer your questions clearly and to explain everything to you in a language that you understand. The goal is to find a hearing aid you are comfortable with and that enhances your ability to hear and communicate with those you love.
Hearing Aid Cleaning and Repairs
Routine cleaning of your hearing aids will give years of reliable hearing and reduce the need for future repairs. There are some small things you can do at home to keep your hearing aids clean. However, there are some deeper cleaning techniques that can only be done by a professional. In addition to hearing aid cleanings, I am trained to do many repairs right here in our office. If your aid needs a repair and we are unable to repair it in our office, I will be able to send the device to the manufacturer for a factory repair on your behalf.
